Dear %NAME%,

We are launching a new resource for privacy-conscious voters and seek your opinions on privacy-related legislation.

As you may know, the past session had unprecedented legislative attacks on the privacy of Americans and the freedom of speech online. Earlier this year, thousands of Washingtonians testified against the widely reviled 'Keep our Children Safe Act' (HB-2112). This bill would have instituted privacy-invasive ID checks to access websites online, powered by data broker corporations. After going viral on social media and with coverage on NBC and Seattle Times, the bill thankfully died in committee. Unfortunately, the sponsors have indicated they plan to revive it next session.

Now privacy-conscious voters are starting to mobilize to support candidates who value privacy. To that end, our grassroots website tracks legislative actions on privacy legislation and candidate stances.

We ask you to please spare a few moments of your time to indicate on our website your positions. All fields are optional. You can mark your positions at: %URL% (Private link, please do not share)

Voters will then be able to see your responses and (if available) legislative history at %PUBLICURL% (Public link, safe to share)

Your response will be associated with your race for: %RACE% in district: %DISTRICT%

Thank you for your time! If you have any questions, please feel free to hit reply and let me know.

If you do not wish to receive any further inquiries from this project, you may opt out here: %OPTOUT%
